The Rotary Club of East Jordan is proud to celebrate a new year of cultural exchange, friendship, and learning through the Rotary International Youth Exchange program.

For the 2025–2026 school year, the club is thrilled to welcome Sacha Biecher Lahaye from France as their inbound exchange student. Sacha will spend the year attending East Jordan High School, participating in community life, and sharing his culture with local students and families.
Two adventurous East Jordan High School students are representing their community abroad as outbound exchange students this year: Elke Knauf, spending a year in Bolivia and Emmalynn Poli, embarking on an exchange year in Taiwan.
“These exchanges are life-changing experiences,” said Clif Porter, Youth Exchange Officer for the Rotary Club of East Jordan. “Students not only gain language skills and cultural understanding but also form friendships that last a lifetime. It’s a joy to see our youth become true global citizens.”

The club also bids a fond farewell to last year’s inbound student, Alejandro Isaza Toro from Colombia, who excelled academically and socially during the 2024–2025 school year at East Jordan High School. Alejandro’s contributions in the classroom, on the sports field, and in the community left a lasting mark, and he now returns home with lifelong memories and friendships.

Rotary Youth Exchange is a flagship program of Rotary International, dedicated to fostering peace and understanding through person-to-person connections.
